About Us
Friends of Mmofra grew into being through conversations between friends in the US Pacific Northwest, all educators, artists or both.
As we shared our experiences, knowledge and food from different points on the globe, Amowi’s stories of the visionary work her family and others were doing to enrich cultural life in Ghana and the United States took root first in our own imaginations, and then led to our active involvement as a registered 501 c 3 nonprofit with a mission to build communities of advocacy and inspiration through parallel projects that engage creativity, literacy and education. We partner closely with Ghana-based Mmofra Foundation.
