Inclusive Play
Since 2016 we’ve built partnerships around a a campaign to open up park space for all. Stewarded by Mmofra Foundation, Mmofra Place Park in Accra has welcomed disability support groups like Share Care Ghana for rest and recreation. We help to manage “Kofi’s Swing”, which contributes funds for inclusive design and for bringing families to the park.
Past Board member Jennifer Compau is an art educator and the creative director at Spark:Art Partnership which values the integration of persons with varying disabilities and abilities for the purpose of forming remarkable relationships and supporting unlimited possibilities through art. Her knowledge and advocacy in this field drives our goal to draw people of all ages and abilities together through the creation of art. Everywhere in the world, many people with special needs are especially marginalized and there is a real need for more diverse opportunities for them and their families. This thinking is at the center of our design and programming efforts, especially for outdoor environments. The space in Accra, Ghana which we are privileged to work in is stewarded by Mmofra Foundation.
